The root causes of too many business challenges today can be the determinant of a brighter future for businesses tomorrow. The research suggests preventive measures can lower the risk of business issues and problems occurring in the present as well as in the future. The characteristics, challenges and structures of international businesses depend on their resources and capabilities and are different to domestic ones. For example, international businesses need to better understand international markets and cultures, which occurs through better information and data analysis. Strong teams and a connected organisation will allow businesses to operate effectively in a rapidly changing globalised world. Talent is the driving force of organisations and is a contributing aspect to their organisation's performance and success factors, and it can also lead them to gain competitive advantage over other businesses in the same industry. Talent in International business enables the organisation to develop a steeper learning curve than others, which influences and supports idea creation. A theory of idea creation is that it empowers people within the organisation to develop their own theories, which are then interpreted as new knowledge and is considered another factor of competitive advantage. Other sources of competitive advantage are cost advantages, which help a business to position itself as a cost leader in its industry.

There are a lot of businesses now, because of the current crisis, that want to cut costs and maximise results. Picture a scenario 6 months after the pandemic, which may not be anytime soon according to a recent economic forecast by the OECD. In this scenario, though, the pandemic has ended; what is more, consumers are spending more than they were before, and there is a sense of normality returning to domestic and foreign markets. Well, not so, because the pandemic has caused businesses to delve deep into their financial resources, leaving them with a bare minimum to operate. It will take one to three years before businesses start to experience any kind of real growth in their accounts again, and managers will need to be innovative thought leaders. International business permits managers to develop strategic and critical thinking and requires them to develop global perspectives and mindsets. There are many benefits to international business for consumers; international business introduces them to a variety of goods and services. For many consumers, it enhances their standard of living and introduces them to innovative ideas, devices, products, services, and technologies. International businesses open channels to new products and services, to new cultures, and make it easier to access foreign culture, including food, movies, and art.
